Report options

Store

The store whose customers you want to see. The list covers customers saved against this store only.

There is no date option. Every figure covers the past 12 months, counted back from the moment you run the report in your store's local time.

The report at a glance

Bob's Burgers Times Square
Customer list report
214 customers that ordered in the past year

The report has no date range in its header. The number is how many of your customers placed at least one paid order in the past 12 months. Customers on your list who did not order in that time are listed too, but are not counted in this number.

  1. New customers: customers whose first order in the past year was placed in the last seven days (page 1).
  2. Customers by last order: every customer, in sections by how many days ago they last ordered.
  3. Blocks of 500 customers: each section is split into blocks you click to expand or collapse.
  4. No orders in the past year: customers on your list with no paid order in the past 12 months.
  5. Privacy warning: your responsibilities for the personal information in the report.

New customers

The first page, New customers that placed their first order in the past week, lists customers whose first order in the past year was placed today or in the six days before, so you can welcome them back. They also appear again in their section further down.

1 One line per customer

Sorted by # days since last order (most recent first), then by name. Click a column heading to sort by that column instead.

2 Ranking

Lifetime ranking by value is the customer's place among the 214 customers who ordered in the past year, by Lifetime order value (1 = spent the most). Lifetime ranking percentile turns that place into a band: 96 out of 214 is in the top 45%, so the band is Top 50%.

3 Totals

The number of orders and the order value of the new customers listed.

Cust' age in mnths
Whole months since the customer's first order in the past year. 0 means less than a month.
Lifetime
On this report, lifetime means the past 12 months.

Customers by last order

From page 2, every customer on your list appears once, in one of five sections by how long ago they last ordered. Use these sections to plan follow-ups: thank your active customers and send an offer to the ones who are drifting away.

1 The five sections

In this order: 0 to 30 days ago, 31 to 60 days ago, 61 to 90 days ago, 91 to 365 days ago and Customers with no orders in the past year. Days are counted in calendar days in your store's local time: yesterday is 1 day ago. Within a section customers are listed by days since their last order, most recent first, then by name.

2 Block line

Each section is split into blocks of 500 customers. See Blocks of 500 customers.

3 Section totals

How many customers are in the section, with their total number of orders and order value over the past year.

Top 1% to Top 80%
The customer is within that share of your best-spending customers.
Bottom 20%, Bottom 10%, Bottom 5%, Bottom 1%
The customer is within that share of your lowest-spending customers who ordered in the past year.

Blocks of 500 customers

Busy stores can have thousands of customers in a section, so each section is split into numbered blocks of 500: Group 01 (customers # 1 to 500), Group 02 (customers # 501 to 1000) and so on. Block 01 holds the 500 customers who ordered most recently in that section. The last block shows its real end number, for example Group 03 (customers # 1001 to 1187).

The first block of each section opens expanded; the others start collapsed. Click the block line to expand or collapse it.

TipExport to Excel to work with the whole list at once, for example to load phone numbers into an SMS campaign. Only export what you need and delete the file when you are done.

No orders in the past year

The last section, Customers with no orders in the past year, lists customers on your list with no paid order in the past 12 months. Some of them ordered before that; others never ordered at all (for example a customer captured but whose order was cancelled). The dates, order figures and rankings are blank for these customers because the report only looks at the past year.

Frequently asked questions

Why does "lifetime" only go back one year?

To keep the report fast, it only reads the past 12 months of orders. Every column that says Lifetime means the past 12 months, counted back from when you run the report.

A regular customer shows in "Customers with no orders in the past year". Why?

Their last paid order is more than 12 months old, or their orders were not linked to their customer record (for example the customer was not selected on the order). Orders placed without choosing the customer don't count towards anyone.

Why doesn't the order value match my sales reports?

This report only counts paid orders that were linked to a customer, over the past 12 months. Walk-in sales without a customer, voided orders and orders older than a year are left out. The value is the order total as the customer paid it, including delivery charges.

Why is a customer listed as new when they have ordered before?

"New" means their first order in the past 12 months was placed in the last seven days. A customer who last ordered more than a year ago and came back this week shows as new.

Two customers spent the same. Why do they have different rankings?

Every customer gets their own place in the ranking. When two customers spent exactly the same, the one who was added to your customer list first gets the higher place.

Why do the days since last order look one day off?

Days are counted in calendar days in your store's local time, not in 24-hour periods. An order placed late last night is 1 day ago this morning.

Why can't I see customers from my other stores?

The report shows customers saved against the store you picked only. Run it again for each store.
