# Using Sales channels

Sales channels are used to group sales according to their source, whether that be from the Cashier, from Self-Service Terminals, or from external sources such as Online ordering platforms.

- Sales Channels are created on the Aura Portal, and may be customised for each store.
- **Uber Eats & Mr. Delivery** orders are captured in their own sales channels making it easier to track and report on Third-party orders.
- **Yumbi** orders can now also be captured as their own sales channel instead **(This is only relevant to failed online orders that print on the GSM printer that use to be captured as Special Orders on Invoicing)**

Each device running *CounterPOS* is assigned a default sales channel, which makes sure that orders are placed under the correct channel without requiring manual changes. However, you can change the sales channel if needed.

The current sales channel is displayed beneath the invoice number:

To switch sales channels, tap the **Channel** button and select the appropriate option.

Some sales channels, such as those for third-party delivery services, may require a reference number to be captured for the order. Capture and tap **Submit**.

The updated sales channel and reference number will appear in the invoice details.

Since different sales channels may have different menus or pricing, **always select the correct channel** ***before*** **ringing up items**. If the menu differs and items are not available, you may need to abandon the sale and re-enter the order.

Payment options vary based on how the sales channel is set up in the *Aura* portal. If the channel does not have an account, payment must be accepted before finalizing the order. If it does, you can send the order to the kitchen, and the invoice will be marked as fulfilled.

## Account-only Sales Channels

Some sales channels operate on an **account**, which means that payment does not need to be recorded immediately. A common example is *UberEats*, where the platform collects payment from customers and settles the balance with the restaurant later.

Sales channels can be configured to **always pay on account** or allow some orders to be paid immediately. Continuing with the *UberEats* example, all orders will always be paid on account, so drivers don't carry cash.

When using a sales channel that always pays on account, **payment options will be disabled**, and the **Account** button will be locked.

Make sure to set the order to be a [**Collect order**](https://help.aurapos.com/en/article/ringing-up-a-collect-sale) and set the customer as the delivery service.

Because you don't need to record payment to complete the order, you can tap **New Sale** to complete the order.

When the driver arrives, navigate to the [Summary](https://help.aurapos.com/en/article/counterpos-layout-and-functions) screen and [fulfill](https://help.aurapos.com/en/article/processing-a-new-sale-in-counterpos#:~:text=configured%20to%20accept.-,Fulfilling%20Sales,-%23) the order.

## Account-optional sales channels

Some sales channels may be set up where the account facility is **optional**. This means payment can be recorded immediately with another payment methord, or paid on account. This is often used in cafeterias or where stores have larger clients that settle accounts at a later stage.

When using a sales channel that is not always on account, all payment options will be available by default. You can accept payment as usual or choose to put the order on account.

To do so, tap **Account**. *CounterPOS* will prompt you to confirm whether the sale should be recorded on account. Once confirmed, the order can be completed or sent to the Kitchen.

As with other sales channel setups, fulfilling the sale may still be required from the summary screen.
