# The Users page

The Users page is where you can add or edit store or brand-level users and give them access to the POS and/or Portal.

In order to use **CounterPOS** or the **Aura Portal**, each person must have a **user profile**.

A user profile provides:

- A unique **login code** for starting shifts and having orders assigned
- The ability for Aura to **track user activity**
- Control over what a user can and cannot do through **roles and permissions**

- Open the **Section Menu**
- Go to **System Admin** → **User Management**
- This opens the **User Management page**, where you can view all users linked to your store or group.

## Filtering and Searching

The user list can be filtered in several ways:

- **Stakeholder type**
- **Active or inactive** status
- **Platform** (whether the user has access to CounterPOS, the Aura Portal, or both)

You can also search directly by typing user details into the **search bar**.

## Stakeholder Types

The **Stakeholder** field indicates the **type** of user in the organization, for example a **Store owner** user type with access to owner or franchisee user roles, or **Store Users** that would include employee roles such as manager, cashier or driver.

| **Note that some stakeholder types may note be available to you depending on your level - for example, a store user will not have access to Store Owner users.** |

## User Information, Permissions and Actions

The user list provides key details for each profile:

- **Name**
- **Stakeholder type**
- **Phone number**
- **Email address**
- **Employee number**

Columns for **Access Permissions** show how many permissions a user has for the Portal or for CounterPOS.

If a user has **no permissions**, they will not be able to access that product.

On the far right is the **Actions column**, where you can edit the user.
