**Need a reminder?**Click **Explain this report** under the logo at the top of the report to open this guide.

## Report options

### Select your period

This is the only option. The year is part of each period, so there is nothing else to choose. What you see depends on whether your brand declares royalties monthly or weekly. The newest completed period is the default (the first one in the list).

**Monthly brands**

September 2026

August 2026

July 2026

… back 24 months

**Weekly brands**

Week #42: Mon 12 Oct 2026 to Sun 18 Oct 2026

Week #41: Mon 05 Oct 2026 to Sun 11 Oct 2026

… back 24 months

Weeks run Monday to Sunday and follow the international (ISO) week numbering, so week 1 can start in late December.

**Why isn't this month (or week) in the list?**You can only declare a **completed** period. The current month or week appears once trading has closed on its last day for every store in your brand.

## The report at a glance

Royalty report

**For September 2026** \*

The date line is the period you chose. Weekly brands see, for example, **For week 41: Mon 05 Oct 2026 to Sun 11 Oct 2026**. The asterisk (\*) only appears when your store's close of trade time is after midnight. The note at the bottom of the page explains it.

From top to bottom the report contains:

1. [Daily sales](https://help.aurapos.com/en/article/financial-royalty#daily): every trading day in the period, then the totals, voids and discounts.
2. [From turnover to royalty sales](https://help.aurapos.com/en/article/financial-royalty#royaltysales): how the sales your royalties are charged on are worked out.
3. [Royalty fee calculation](https://help.aurapos.com/en/article/financial-royalty#fee): each royalty excluding VAT, the VAT and including VAT.
4. [Declaration](https://help.aurapos.com/en/article/financial-royalty#declaration): to sign and send to your franchisor.

## Daily sales

The first table lists every trading day in the period, including days with no sales (marked **No sales**), so you can check that nothing is missing.

| Date | | Gross sales
(incl Vat) | −Discounts
(incl Vat) | \=Net sales
(incl Vat) | +Delivery charges
(incl Vat) | \=Turnover
(incl Vat) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Tue 01 Sep 2026 | | 21 380.00 | 640.00 | 20 740.00 | 310.00 | 21 050.00 |
| Wed 02 Sep 2026 | | 19 905.50 | 412.00 | 19 493.50 | 285.00 | 19 778.50 |
| Thu 03 Sep 2026 | No sales | | | | | |
| … and so on for every trading day in the period | | | | | | |
| Total: | | 612 408.00 | 18 220.00 | 594 188.00 | 9 140.00 | 603 328.00 |

**Close of trade time**If your store's close of trade time is after midnight, sales between midnight and that time count towards the previous day. The dates are then marked with an asterisk (\*) and the note at the bottom of the page explains it.

Under the totals are two small boxes, each showing an amount and a percentage:

| | Amount | Percentage |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Voids | 3 240.00 | 0.5% of gross sales (+ voids) |
| Discounts | 18 220.00 | 3.0% of gross sales |

**Voids** is the value of cancelled invoices and of items removed from invoices in the period. It is shown as a percentage of gross sales plus voids. **Discounts** is the total discounts given, as a percentage of gross sales. Click either box to open the Voids or Discounts report for the same dates.

## From turnover to royalty sales

Under the totals, the report works out the sales your royalties are charged on:

| Less Vat: | 78 695.00 |
| --- | --- |
| \= turnover (excl Vat): | 524 633.00 |
| Less non-royalty sales (excl Vat): | 4 210.00 |
| Less sales channel commissions (excl Vat): | 2 118.00 |
| \= royalty sales (excl Vat): | 518 305.00 |

The tax is labelled with your country's tax name, shown here as Vat.

Less non-royalty sales

Sales of menu items your brand has marked as royalty exempt, after any discounts given on them. Hover over the figure to see which items they are.

Less sales channel commissions

The commission that delivery platforms such as Uber Eats or Mr D charge your store on their orders. It is worked out the same way as in the **Sales Channel Commissions** report, so the two figures match. Deducting commissions is a **brand setting** that your brand administrator can turn on or off for all stores in the brand. When it is on, the commission is taken off royalty sales. When it is off, this line is hidden and nothing is deducted.

\= royalty sales

The figure your royalty percentages are charged on.

**Currency**A small box at the bottom of the report shows the currency the figures are in.

## Royalty fee calculation

This box lists each royalty your store pays, with the amount excluding VAT, the VAT, and the amount including VAT, and a total line underneath.

| | Excl Vat | Vat | Incl Vat |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Management - 6% of royalty sales (excl Vat): | 31 098.30 | 4 664.75 | 35 763.05 |
| Marketing - 2% of royalty sales (excl Vat) \*\* Ends Mid-month: | 5 000.00 | 750.00 | 5 750.00 |
| Marketing - 3% of royalty sales (excl Vat) \*\* Starts Mid-month: | 8 049.15 | 1 207.37 | 9 256.52 |
| Royalty: | 44 147.45 | 6 622.12 | 50 769.57 |

Royalties are listed in alphabetical order by name, and a royalty with more than one rate lists the earlier rate first. This is the same order as your brand's Royalties report.

### \*\* Starts Mid-month / \*\* Ends Mid-month

When a royalty's percentage changes during the period, both rates are listed. Each is only charged on the sales made while it applied. In the example, that is 2% on sales up to the 15th and 3% on sales from the 16th. A royalty that started or ended part way through the period is marked the same way. Weekly brands see **Mid-week**.

**What to pay**The **Incl Vat** amount on the **Royalty** total line is the royalty payable for the period.

**No VAT set up?**If your brand has no tax rate set up, the royalty is still listed, with a VAT of 0.00.

## Declaration

At the bottom of the report is the declaration that the figures are a true reflection of the royalty fee payable for your outlet for the period, with boxes for your name, signature and date. Print the report, complete the declaration and send it to your franchisor.

## Frequently asked questions

Why is there no sales channel commissions line on my report?

Deducting sales channel commissions from royalty sales is a brand setting that can be turned on or off. If it is off for your brand, the line is hidden and nothing is deducted. Ask your brand administrator if you are not sure which way it is set. Changing the setting affects reports for all stores in the brand.

My sales channel commission is different to what the platform invoiced.

The report works out the commission from your own sales, using the commission percentage set up for each channel. If a platform's percentage has changed, ask your administrator to update it. Run the Sales Channel Commissions report for the same dates to see the breakdown.

Why does a late-night sale fall on the previous day?

Your trading day ends at your store's close of trade time. Sales after midnight but before that time belong to the previous trading day, and so to the period that day falls in.

A royalty rate changed during the period. Is the whole period charged at the new rate?

No. Each rate is charged only on the sales made while it was in force, using your store's local time. Both rates are listed and marked **\*\* Starts Mid-month** or **\*\* Ends Mid-month**.

My figure is one cent different to the brand's report.

The brand report rounds each royalty's total before adding VAT. This report works line by line, so the VAT can occasionally differ by one cent.

Why isn't this month (or week) in the list?

Only completed periods can be declared. The current month or week appears once trading has closed on its last day for every store in your brand.

Why is my non-royalty sales figure lower than the list prices of those items?

Discounts given on royalty-exempt items are taken off, because turnover is also after discounts. The figure is what those items really brought in.

My report shows no royalty lines.

Only royalties your store is named on are listed, and only those that apply during the period. If you expect one, ask your franchisor to check that your store is on that royalty.
